It is an important moment to mark — crude flows through the Strait of Hormuz have returned to prewar levels.
Diesel prices are at a record high at the pump, and refined product supply remains constrained, creating serious problems for the global economy.
Crude flows through the Strait of Hormuz have essentially returned to prewar levels . According to research from Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Kpler, exports transiting through the Strait have hit a seven-day average of 13.5 million barrels per day, matching the prewar baseline.
But pricing remains a source of pain. Refined product supplies remain constrained, with shipments still far below average.

Both Brent and WTI are both lower in early trading on Thursday.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick reported at least $250 million in income and other proceeds last year, much of it from the financial businesses he left behind when he joined the Trump administration , according to CNBC's calculations from his newly released 2025 annual financial disclosure .
The largest piece was a $192 million distribution from Cantor Fitzgerald , the global financial services firm Lutnick led for decades. His annual financial disclosure describes the payment as a tax distribution handled under the ethics agreement he signed before taking office.
