Shares of Punjab National Bank (PNB), AU Small Finance Bank and Bank of Baroda jumped up to 4% on Monday after their respective Q2 business updates boosted investor sentiment.AU Small Finance Bank shares jumped around 3.5% to trade at Rs 1,021 apiece on the NSE, the highest level seen by the stock in more than a week.

PNB shares jumped 4% to near Rs 114 apiece, while Bank of Baroda shares rose 3% to Rs 237.32 apiece.Also Read | Yes Bank shares rise 3% after Q2 business update shows loans surging 24% YoY, deposits up 20%PNB Q2 business updateLast week, PNB reported nearly 12% year-on-year growth in its global business to Rs 31.2 lakh crore in the quarter which ended on September 30, 2026, from Rs 27.87 lakh crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Sequentially, its global business grew over 4% YoY from Rs 29.98 crore in Q1 FY27. The PSU lender’s domestic business meanwhile increased around 11% YoY to Rs 29.7 lakh crore during the quarter under review.The bank’s global deposits increased around 10% YoY to Rs 17.77 lakh crore during the second quarter of FY27, from Rs 16.17 lakh crore reported in the same period last year. Its global advances meanwhile increased 15% YoY to Rs 13.43 lakh crore.

Overall, the company’s global CD ratio stood at 75.65% in Q2 FY27, as against 72.33% in Q2 FY26 and 73.81% in Q1 FY27.Bank of Baroda Q2 business updateBank of Baroda’s global business increased more than 17% YoY to nearly Rs 32.64 lakh crore in the second quarter of FY27, from Rs 27.79 lakh crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Its global deposits increased 17% YoY to Rs 17.5 lakh crore, with domestic deposits rising to 14.88 lakh crore.Bank of Baroda’s global advances meanwhile increased over 18% YoY to Rs 15.12 lakh crore during the quarter, while domestic advances grew a little over 13% from the same period last year.

The company’s domestic retail advances jumped nearly 19% YoY to Rs 3.24 lakh crore.AU Small Finance Bank Q2 business updateAU Small Finance Bank’s total deposits jumped nearly 29% YoY to Rs 1.7 lakh crore during the second quarter of FY27, from Rs 1.32 lakh crore reported in the year-ago period.

Buy, sell or hold?What lies ahead?It is important to note that these are provisional numbers, and the audited results will be released later.

Meanwhile, Nomura in its latest note said that it expects Q2 results to show high-teens loan growth and stable asset quality, and sees momentum sustaining through the second half of FY27.Margins, however, should remain under pressure in the near term, as banks carry surplus FCNR(B)-led liquidity in low-yielding assets, the international; brokerage noted, adding that it expects this to ease by the third quarter of FY27 as the excess is deployed into loans and used to retire high-cost liabilities.
